 If you don’t need your passport very quickly and can wait for 2 months to receive it, use instructions below. (Is cheaper but a bit slower).

NOTICE New or renewed passports have to be the  Electronic Passports that require mandatory finger prints.   If you already own the reddish/burgundy color passport which has a bar code on the page where your photograph is, you don’t need to submit finger prints with your application. (Having that passport means that you already have submitted a finger print when you got your passport. You DO NOT need to submit finger prints again and you can disregard the instructions regarding fingerprints and just submit all the other requirements.)  If you own the old Ethiopian passport where you didn’t have to give fingerprints to obtain it, please read on and follow instructions.  Starting from April 2010,  all Ethiopians who want to obtain a new, replacement (lost or Existing) passport or renewal of a passport should fulfill the requirements stated below. Ethiopis Travel advises all applicants to submit their application at least two months ahead of their planned travel date or prior to applying for any other services that require a valid passport. Those using a postal service are advised to get a tracking number from the service provider. **Minors under age of 14 are exempted from giving finger prints. A. Requirements for Replacement of a Passport

• Four recent, colored photographs of size 2×2 (US passport photo size) with white background and name of the applicant at the back of the photograph; You can get them done in our office, at any CVS, Walgreen, or Walmart locations among many.
• Two copies of any supporting documents showing Ethiopian citizenship (i.e. copy of Old passport, birth certificate, kebele ID, etc.);
• Two copies of Green card (both sides) or I-94 INS papers, or other document that shows present immigration status (for those who do not have Green Card)
• Service fee must be in  personal check, money order or Cashiers Check or Certified bank check made payable to Ethiopis Travel. If you come into our office in person, you can make the payment by cash as well.
• Finger print (Left and Right index) of the applicant. ONLY IF YOU NEED IT.  Check the bolded info above. (Those using mail services should go to the nearest police stations to give finger prints and attache the finger print sheets with the application form

B. Requirements for first time Appilicant. First time applicant means 1) Those Ethiopians who who came to the United States with their parents as a co-traveler by their parent’s passport and can present evidence for that. 2) Those Ethiopians who never have had Ethiopian passport and can present evidence.

• Four recent, colored photographs of size 3 x 4 cm with white background and name of the applicant at the back of the photograph;
• Two copies of any supporting documents showing Ethiopian citizenship (i.e. birth certificate, kebele ID, school certificates, etc.);
• Two Copies of a Green card (both sides) or I-94 INS papers or other documents that shows present immigration status (for those who do not have a Green Card
